Video Tutorial

This video covers everything, but the relevant page’s timestamp has been linked below. 👍

Audio Output

Yes there’s a group with the same name as the tab. Whatever.

If you want to make Mumble louder or quieter overall instead of per-user, you can adjust the Volume slider here.

Attenuation

Attenuation is basically the effect of making your system sounds quieter while you speak. In this case, it would lower the volume of your friends while you’re speaking, but only for yourself… if that makes sense.

In most cases, you should probably just leave this off.

Positional Audio Settings

Important

This section is very important if you want everything to sound correct.

  1. Make sure BOTH Enable and Headphones are checked.
  2. Copy down the following settings:
    • Minimum Distance: 4.0m
    • Maximum Distance: 70.0m
      • (Use something higher like 90m if Streaming)
    • Minimum Volume: 0%
    • Bloom: 35%
  3. Make sure to click Apply before closing.

Keep in mind,

These settings change how YOUR COMPUTER perceives the incoming audio from your friends.

These settings DO NOT change how THEY hear YOU.

You can view why these settings were chosen, and what they do, here.
